The Oxford College of Engineering was Founded in 1974 by S. Narasa Raju, the Oxford Educational Institutions is the Brain Child of CHILDREN'S EDUCATION SOCIETY (REGD). The Oxford Educational Institutions, well-known for Academic excellences cover the gamut of needs from K.G. to P.G. courses. The Institutions are located mainly at J.P. Nagar, HSR Layout, Hongasandra, Bommanahalli Bangalore, Karnataka India.The Institutions provides education from primary level to Post Graduate level in the Academic fields of Teacher's Training, Management, Hospitality, Industry, Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Dental Education and Medical Courses, which are highlighted, under the heading INSTITUTIONS. The Faculty, for the above mentioned courses are well qualified, experienced and dedicated. As it stands today, the student strength has crossed the 15,000 mark and the staff strength has crossed the 2500 mark.

Library and Information Centre(LIC) is rapidly developing up to be one of the most sought professional education & research referral library. It started its service in the year 1995. All bibliographic details of books, journals and CD-ROM databases are accessible through the campus wide network. The library has vast number of printed documents, and it subscribes to over 200 National and International journals. It has established contacts with other organizations for exchange of the Institute's publications and inter-library loan arrangement.

The SVCE college campus is located at Chikkajala, Vidyanagar about 22 kms from Banglore on the National Highway No.7. The SVCE college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and SVCE affiliated to VTU Belgaum. The International Airport at Devanahalli is 6 km away from the SVCE campus. Understanding that the best of coaching and attention will lead to optimal benefit only when taught in a conducive environment, basic facilities in the SVCE campus have been created with lot of thought and care. The SVCE college campus has well furnished, modern, spacious and well ventilated classrooms with comfortable seating arrangement and well equipped basic sciences laboratories and workshops. Spacious Corridors and staircases ensure free flow. To integrate information system technology into the present curriculum, the SVCE college is equipped with Internet connectivity, through Wi-Fi system connecting SVCE students to the world. The faculty and the SVCE students are allowed to surf the net free of cost. Open Air Theatre with the lush green grass providing the natural cushion for enjoying cultural and other functions. Entire SVCE campus is safeguarded with electrical fencing, Well Trained Security Force safeguarding 24 hours a day.  Spacious ground covering an area of 2.5 Acres is provided for sports activities. Laying equal emphasis on extracurricular activities the Sports And Games facilities in the SVCE campus enable the students physical growth and sportsman spirit. The SVCE college has facilities for all major games.

The SVCE campus has separate SVCE hostel for boys and girls with resident wardens. Well-furnished rooms make stay at the SVCE campus not only comfortable but also memorable. Well-Furnished 2/3 Beds With Cupboards, one bookshelf in the SVCE Hostel with 24 hours unlimited hot water facilities available.  Every aspect has been built with attention to detail such as Octagonal Shaped Cafeteria with additional six square blocks covered with lush greenery with spacious seating facility. Buses owned by the SVCE college provide Good Transportation from City to the SVCE college campus operating from different pick up and drop points at nominal charges, besides, BMTC buses are also available, giving a stop just in front of the SVCE campus main gate.

The SVCE library has adopted Open Access System. Documents are classified as per International Classification System 'Dewey Decimal Classification. "LIBSOFT" software is installed in the SVCE library's Computers and used for Library Management. Bar-coding labels are pasted to all books in the library. 'Digital Borrower's Cards' are issued to all SVCE Staff and SVCE Students. SVCE  Students are eligible to take 3 books. Merit Students will get 5 books. Faculty will get 5 books. HOD's will get 10 books. Users can reserve a book, which is already lent out. Reserved books are kept in the counter 3 days. The reservation lapses automatically after 3 days. SVCE Library's 'Digital Centre' is having a good collection of CDs/ DVDs. Users can scan and refer information available in CD's/DVDs. Also, Internet facility is provided in the digital centre for web search. For the benefit of SC/ST students, 'Books Bank' facility is available in the SVCE Library. Eligible SVCE student will get 4 books for one semester period. The SVCE Library staff is providing Reference and Referral Service to Students and Faculty. SVCE Library has 'DELNET' online Connection, which provides access to a 35 lakhs records of publications which includes 331 e-Journals and a large numbers of articles.Users can take Xerox copies of Reading material available in the SVCE  library from SVCE library's 'Photocopier' for nominal charges.

The SIR MVIT  Institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (V.T.U) and SIR MVIT  approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. SIR MVIT  is an ISO 9001:2000 Certified Institution. The SIR MVIT  institute has 2800 SIR MVIT  students & over 260 well-experienced 3rd rate faculty members. SIR MVIT  LIBRARY

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology has a Central Library and Information Center encourages every user to use the SIR MVIT  library to his/her advantage. The SIR MVIT  library is fully automated. At present the SIR MVIT  library has 59,040 volumes, 17,000 titles of books, about 950 back volumes of scientific and technical journals, 268 video cassettes, and 1050 CD/DVD’s. There are 85 hard copies of the journals. The SIR MVIT  library also subscribes to IEEE / IEE Electronic SIR MVIT  Library, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Springer Link E-Resources through INDEST – AICTE Consortium. SIR MVIT  library follows the Open Access System encouraging the user to browse freely in the stack area. The SIR MVIT  library is housed in a spacious block with an area of 1400.8 sqm spread over two floors.

The SIR MVIT  Library and Information Center comprises of Reference Section, Circulation Section, Audio-visual Section, Periodical Section, Socially Weaker Section, Book Bank, Reprographic Section, Digital Library and Browsing Section. Standard text books and reference books by authors of repute in all fields are procured. The SIR MVIT  college follows a policy of buying multiple copies of many of these books, to make them available to a large number of users. Each SIR MVIT  student is issued 4 books, 2 of which can be retained for the whole semester and 2 for a period of 15 days. Two additional books are issued for those who secure first class with distinction. Every effort is made to procure titles recommended by the users. The SIR MVIT  institute is a member of British library, National Aerospace Library, Indian Institute of Science, Central Manufacturing Technology Institute, Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises Bangalore and DELNET INDEST-AICTE Consortium New Delhi.  Audio-visual Section is equipped with video cassette recorder, colour television and projector with a collection of a number of educational cassettes for use of SIR MVIT  students and SIR MVIT  staff. The SIR MVIT  library provides Internet facility which enables the users to access the databases related to education as well as Research and Development and provide EDUSAT program. A good Reprographic Section has been established to meet the requirements of conferences, seminars, workshops and to help in carrying out R & D work including publications.

SIR MVIT  HOSTEL

There are four Men’s SIR MVIT  Hostels and two SIR MVIT  Ladies’ Hostels. One more SIR MVIT  Ladies’ Hostel block is under construction. These SIR MVIT  hostels accommodate around 640 boys and 300 girls. Day to day affairs of SIR MVIT  hostels are managed by Warden and resident Wardens. A SIR MVIT  Hostel Committee takes policy decisions. Accommodation is provided on a twin sharing basis. Rooms with basic furnitures like cot, table and chair are provided. Bed-rolls, linen etc. have to be brought by the students themselves. Strict discipline is maintained in the SIR MVIT  hostels. Late night entry, leaving hostel without permission are not allowed. Smoking and drinking in hostel premises is totally prohibited. SIR MVIT  Students are not permitted to use any electrical appliances other than what are provided in the rooms except SIR MVIT  computers for which additional fee of Rs.100/- per month is charged. Students residing in SIR MVIT  hostels are expected to carry identity cards with them always. Entry of unauthorized persons is totally prohibited. SIR MVIT  Hostel mess serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food and boarders have to register their choice of food at the beginning of the semester.
