ABOUT Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering
The Dayananda Sagar Schools and Colleges of
Science, Arts and Commerce are pioneering institutions founded by late Sri
Dayananda Sagar in the early sixties. Progressively a number of institutions
offering diploma, degree and postgraduate courses in Engineering, Dental
Sciences, and Pharmacy were added. Management and high-end Information Technology
education programmes have also been introduced. Keeping in pace with
technological growth, courses in Biotechnology and Microbiology are being
offered catering to new demands from industry, research institutes and the
overall market needs. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering new program is to
train teachers at the Dayananda Sagar College of Education. Facilities for
doctoral and postdoctoral work are now being created encouraging the curious
within and, the talented outside to come into the folds of Dayananda Sagar
College of Engineering put to use the infrastructure and other facilities to
its optimum levels. Health care education has been receiving strong emphasis at
the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering campus through diploma and graduate
programs in Nursing. The Nursing faculty has well-equipped laboratories and
modern infrastructure. This is supplemented with a team of professionally
qualified faculty who guide the students to achieve their best. The Allied

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering campus has landscaped gardens, trees lined
pathways, and student rest places. Playgrounds and indoor sports facilities
help develope physical skills. There's an old temple of lord Shiva (Shavige
Malleshwara Temple) in the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering campus.
Nescafe, Cafe Coffee Day and Cuppa have their outlet in DSI. Apart from
academics, the students of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering are involved in various extra-curricular
activities and student collegiate clubs, the most notable ones of which are
mentioned below. The clubs, each separately conduct a full calendar of events
ranging from Industrial Visits, The annual Entrepreneurship Week Celebrations,

Research forms one of the main thrust of
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering
has a Biochemical Engineering Laboratory with activities funded by All India
Council Technical Education (AICTE), Karnataka State Council for Science and
Technology (KSCST), and National Aviation Fuel Board (NAFB). Dayananda Sagar
College of Engineering also has tie-ups with German Research Center and
research centers in Europe. Research projects from DST,AICTE, DBT and DRDO have
been granted to departments of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. Students
are encouraged to publish research articles in national and international
forums. Research internships are made available to students in institutes like
IIT and ISI. Many departments have been declared as centers of excellence by
VTU in recognition of the research contributions.
