HKBK College of Engineering LIBRARY
Welcome to HKBK Engineering College Library
and Information Center. HKBK Engineering College Library is the Central Library, started in the year
1997. The primary objective of the library is to serve the information needs of
faculty and students community, especially during the examination times. HKBK
Engineering College Library acts as a center for the collection of resources.
Pre-dominantly related to all subjects which are in HKBK Engineering College .
Our aims to develop a comprehensive collection of information that is useful
for both HKBK Engineering College staff and HKBK Engineering College students
of HKBK Engineering College. HKBK Engineering College Library also ensures that
information resources are acquired and organized so as to meet the present and
future users information needs. The entire HKBK Engineering College
Library block is well equipped with
proper lighting and seating arrangements for more than 150 students at a time.
Audiovisual unit attached to the HKBK Engineering College library which will provide upto date
information to its users. An excellent ambience is created for the readers to
utilize the HKBK Engineering College Library facilities. The Library and Information Center
(LIC) at HKBK College of Engineering is an absolute mine of information,
offering the best in progressive as well as traditional learning resources. The
LIC has been set-up with the aim to encourage independent study by providing
different sources of learning that any academician might require. HKBK
Engineering College Library is the crux of learning at HKBKGI, catering to the
intellectual needs of students, faculty and researchers.
The HKBK Engineering College Library and
Information Center is sprawled across 7,510 sq ft area, “D” block, ground floor
with nearly 1 dozen work force & accommodating varied reserves of
information, from hard copies to electronic sources. HKBK Engineering College
Library includes a book bank along with reference books, periodicals, latest
Engineering journals, SC-ST book bank, in-house publications, examination
papers and related documentation, CD-DVDs, etc. The LIC boasts of over 14,500
volumes along with a subscription to more than 40 national and 20 international
technical and non-technical journals. The hard copy materials alone available
at the LIC are worth more than Rs. 75 lakhs. Along with this, the fully
computerized LIC offers open access internet facilities, on-line journals,
e-books, educational CD-ROMs, audio-visual materials and other e-learning
resources.
The HKBK Engineering College central
library can accommodate about 150 users at any given time in its spacious group
study areas with separate reading rooms for HKBKCE staff and students. There
are 2 libraries, viz., one is a HKBK Engineering College central library &
the other is a reference library. Both can accommodate 150 students at a time.
The ocean of information and the astounding resources at the LIC can be easily
accessed with its comprehensive organization and automated systems. The Online
Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facilitates easy recognition and access of
resources as it provides detailed information on the services and collection of
the LIC. Besides the LIC staff is experienced and friendly, always ready to
answer your queries and help you access the various facilities. As for
photocopying, printing, emailing, borrowing materials - the LIC provides
optimal amenities for the same.
